‘Dancing with the Stars’ Recap: Maria Menounos Goes Bollywood in Trio Routine
Posted by: | CommentsThe remaining six pairs on “Dancing with the Stars” 14 returned to the ballroom on Monday, May 7 before facing a double elimination on Tuesday. Each team performed two dances, one was a ballroom dance and the other was a Trio dance.
Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd danced the tango. Len Goodman commented, “Ding dong Donald, a first round knock out, you set the standard.” Bruno Toli praised the power in the routine, as Carrie Ann Inaba applauded, “Your shapes were more dynamic.” She, however, told Donald to add more drama. The athlete got 27 points.
Maria Menounos and Derek Hough danced a romantic Viennese waltz. “Heavenly fluidity, seamless transition, total emotional involvement, this is amazing,” Bruno gushed. Carrie Ann chimed in, “Sometimes dances speak to you. Sometimes dances sing to you… I was hearing angels singing.” The “Extra” co-host got 28 points.
Melissa Gilbert and her pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the foxtrot, which Len deemed her best dance so far. “Unfortunately, there was just one or two incidents,” the judge added. Carrie Ann agreed, adding that her “shoulders were down.” The “Little House on the Prairie” star earned 24 points.
Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas danced the Viennese waltz, during which she showed “superb” technique, so Bruno said. Carrie Ann also praised her astounding technique, but noticed that she lost her balance. The classical opera singer earned 26 points.
After landing on the bottom two last week, Roshon Fegan delivered a better performance this week when dancing the foxtrot with Chelsie Hightower. Bruno commented, “What you have done in a week is incredible,” while Carrie Ann gushed, “You made your grannies proud and you made us proud.” The Disney star got 29 points.
Wrapping up the first round, William Levy and Cheryl Burke danced the foxtrot which helped him earn the perfect score of 30. “It was a mix of care and flare. I liked it,” Bruno commented. “That was like a super, hot, sexy Pink Panther,” Carrie Ann added, as Bruno enthused, “You heart-breaker! You couldn’t be more debonair and suave if you tried. I hate you even more!”
In the second round, each pair must pick an extra professional dancer, either an eliminated pro or member of The Troupe, to join their routine. Donald and Peta recruited Karina Smirnoff for their jive. Len called it “Fun! Fun! Fun,” while Carrie Ann said, “You never missed a step.” The judges gave 28 points for the routine.
Maria and Derek were joined by Henry Byaliko to dance the samba with a Bollywood theme. “Creatively, this dance was incredible, because it kept you constantly the center of attention,” Bruno admitted. Carrie Ann said there was a few little slip-ups, but calling it “a feast for my Asian senses.” The TV hostess earned additional 25 points.
Melissa and Maksim picked none other than his brother Val Chmerkovskiy for their trio dance of the samba. “That is your best dance. Well done,” Len commented. Carrie Ann also praised the team, “You are a very good cream filling in the middle there.” The actress got 27 points for her second routine.
Travis MacManus lent a helping hand to Katherine and Mark when dancing the cha-cha. Len thought it was clean, as Bruno called it sexy and cool. “That was amazing, you were right in the zone!” Carrie Ann added. The Welsh artist earned 29 points.
Roshon and Chelsie enlisted Sasha Farber as a featured dancer for their paso doble. Len loved it, but Bruno noticed, “You lost sync with Sasha a couple of times.” Carrie Ann also pointed out a flaw in the dance as saying, “I’m conflicted, because it was such a good routine… but you went off. You went off a few times.” The actor earned 27 points.
Tony Dovolani was featured in William and Cheryl’s paso doble. Len said it was “a fabulous job,” but Bruno once again saw there was no sync. According to Carrie Ann, however, he “only messed up once.” The telenovela star earned 27 points.
The total score from their two performances will be combined with audience’s votes to determine two pairs which will be sent home on the results show this week.
‘Dancing with the Stars’: Maria Menounos Shows Fangs, Gets First Perfect Score
Posted by: | Comments“Dancing with the Stars” went classical on Monday, April 30. Violinist Joshua Bell, young soprano singer Jackie Evancho and Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo performed the songs which the remaining seven pairs danced to.
Kicking off the competition was Katherine Jenkins who danced the rumba with shirtless Mark Ballas. They had a “Game of Thrones“-themed routine, but Bruno Toli thought it “could have been raunchier.” Carrie Ann Inaba agreed as saying that it needed “more heat.” Still, they praised her elegance and beauty, giving her 27 points.
Having recently recovered from head injury, Melissa Gilbert danced the Argentine tango with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who had to endure pain from a cyst in his foot. The pro dancer enlisted his brother Val for rehearsals, but managed to show up on the stage and did some lifts and twirls.
Carrie Ann called it “Cirque du Soleil gone terribly wrong,” while Len Goodman thought some “quality” was lost due to the intensity of the moves. The pair earned 21 points, the lowest score of the night.
William Levy and Cheryl Burke came out next to dance the Viennese waltz. Their routine got rave reviews with Carrie Ann exclaiming, “That is true content! That is true dancing!” Bruno, meanwhile, liked the “vulnerability”. The telenovela actor got 27 points.
Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower danced the Argentine tango to an orchestral version of Lady GaGa’s “Bad Romance”. Both Len and Bruno noticed that his legs looked a bit wobbly, but Carrie Ann thought he was “steady on his feet.” The Disney star earned 25 points.
Dancing the Viennese waltz, Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd started it off by sitting on thrones and managed to show “regalness,” so Carrie Ann commented. Goodman called it “terrific,” as Bruno also loved it. The judges gave him 27 points.
Maria Menounos and Derek Hough picked a vampire theme for their paso doble. Showing her fake fangs toward the end of the routine, the “Extra” co-host got the first perfect score, 30, of the season. “Maria, the queen of the damned was the queen of the night,” Bruno declared.
Jaleel White and Kym Johnson danced a dramatic Viennese waltz, but Carrie Ann said his “hands” needed work. Len, on the other hand, criticized his footwork which was lacking, but liked the “floaty, airy-fairy feel.” The actor earned 24 points.
After the individual dances, the stars danced once again in two teams. The first team consisting of Katherine and Mark, Maria and Derek, Jaleel and Kym, as well as Roshon and Chelsie danced the tango. The judges gave 27 points, which would be added to each of their scores.
William and Cheryl, Donald and Peta, as well as Melissa and Maksim were in the other team which performed a paso doble. All the guys took off their shirts, prompting Len to say, “You three undressed to impress.” Despite the rave reviews, they earned 26, or one point less than the first team.

Mario Lopez, who finished second in the third season of the reality show, has spilled the beans that an all-star edition of the dancing competition is being planned and he has been offered to participate.
“They’re doing a Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars this next season,” he told Kelly Ripa when guest hosting “Live! With Kelly” on Wednesday, April 25. “They called me to do it.” On whether or not he will sign up for it, the “Extra” host said, “I just don’t know how I’d be able to pull it off.”
Lopez broke the news of the all-star season when he and Ripa were talking about Gladys Knight’s elimination. “I thought she was doing amazing,” so the Mike Hamoui of “Nip/Tuck” commented on the soul singer, who got the boot on Tuesday night.
A source told Gossip Cop that Lopez’s statement was “premature,” but said that a “DWTS” all-star edition is possible. ABC, meanwhile, has not released any words regarding the alleged plans for next season.
‘Dancing with the Stars’: Eliminated Gladys Knight Overjoyed at the Experience

After the two danced a jive to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”, the judges are divided 2-1 for Roshon’s favor. Carrie Ann Inaba wanted to save Gladys, but Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli rooted for the Disney star.
“I am just amazed at this journey,” Gladys said while standing next to her pro dancer partner Tristan MacManus after the final result was announced. “It’s been absolutely extraordinary, I learned so many things, found so many friends and family and I’m just overjoyed.” She additionally wished the other contestants “the best.”
Earlier on the results show, Roshon declared his determination to stay on the competition. “I came too far in this competition to leave now,” he said during a rehearsal. “It’s do or die, baby.” He will return next week along with Katherine Jenkins, Jaleel White, Maria Menounos, Melissa Gilbert, Donald Driver and William Levy.
Also that night, Natasha Bedingfield sang “Wild Horses” as young ballet dancer Michaela DePrince danced to the song. Boyz II Men, meanwhile, catered the audience with their rendition of “One More Dance”.
‘Dancing with the Stars’ Recap: Katherine Jenkins Wins in Motown Marathon
Posted by: | Comments“Dancing with the Stars” celebrated the glorious moment of Motown music on Monday, April 23. The remaining 8 couples danced to songs from the era with the likes of Smokey Robinson and The Temptations lining up to sing that night.
Coming up first to dance was Gladys Knight with her pro dancer partner Tristan MacManus who danced the rumba. Len Goodman said she’s the most charismatic dancer and he would vote for her if he were at home. Carrie Ann Inaba added, “If any night is going to belong to anyone, tonight is going to belong to you.” The soul musician earned 21 points.
Maria Menounos presented “a gleaming blend of sophistication with elegance” when she danced the foxtrot with Derek Hough, according to Bruno Tonioli. Len and Carrie Ann also praised the performance with the latter adding, “You’re so precise, you’re like the edge of a diamond.” The “Extra” host earned 26 points.
Dancing the rumba with Chelsie Hightower, Roshon Fegan failed to impress the judges. Len said “the movement was clipped and jerky,” while Carrie Ann felt that his “moves were a bit over-exaggerated.” The Disney star earned 23 points.
Katherine Jenkins was back with another standout routine as she danced the samba with Mark Ballas. “Tonight, you let it loose! Amazing!” Carrie Ann commented. Len chimed in, “I’m going to call you the midwife, you keep delivering every week.” The opera singer earned almost perfect score, 29.

Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s Viennese waltz was praised by Len for showing romance and control, but she “lost a bit of energy” near the end. Bruno agreed, as Carrie Ann reminded the actress to watch her shoulders while praising her hard work. The “Little House on the Prairie” star earned 24 points.
Jaleel White showed that he’s also a strong contender when dancing the cha cha cha with Kym Johnson. “You’re back,” Len declared, as Bruno called the routine “the biggest sizzler of the season.” Carrie Ann chimed in, “Consider the A-game brought to the table!” The actor earned 29 points.
William Levy showed another sexy routine as he danced the rumba with Cheryl Burke. Though saying the telenovela star was “physically impressive,” Len felt it’s not enough to make him feel ecstatic. Bruno, on the other hand, “loved every minute of it.” Carrie Ann also liked it as a woman, but thought it wasn’t the best dance by William. He earned 27 points.
All couples then came out once again to dance a simultaneous cha cha in Motown Marathon with the last couple standing earning the most points. Katherine won in this round, adding 10 points to her score. Eliminated first was Gladys who eventually got extra 3 points, followed by Maria, Roshon, Melissa, Donald, Jaleel and William in respective order.
‘Dancing with the Stars’ Results: Gavin DeGraw Eliminated After a Dance-Off
Posted by: | CommentsAfter dodging elimination several times, Gavin DeGraw was sent home in the fifth week of “Dancing with the Stars“. The singer/songwriter landed on the bottom two along with Jaleel White on Tuesday, April 17 night.
Gavin and his pro dancer partner Karina Smirnoff as well as Jaleel and his team mate Kym Johnson were then put up against each other in a dance-off. They danced the cha-cha at the same time in front of the judges.
Explaining that they made their decisions based “purely on the quality of the dances they’re seeing right now,” the judges opted to save Jaleel and eliminate Gavin. “It’s been amazing to be part of the show,” so the “Not Over You” singer delivered his final words on the show, praising Karina as a great mentor.
Before the results were announced, Maria Menounos and Derek Hough kicked off the Tuesday show with an encore of their sexy salsa. Instead of kissing each other like they did on Monday night, this time Maria let Bruno Tonioli kiss her cheeks while Derek landed a smooch on Carrie Ann Inaba.
At the end of their routine, Maria almost had a wardrobe malfunction as her top had ridden up on the left side a little. Luckily, the “Extra” host noticed it and turned from the camera to pull the teeny outfit back down.
Also on the results show, Train and Selena Gomez made live performances.
‘DWTS’ Recap: Injured William Levy Soars, Maria Menounos and Derek Hough Kiss
Posted by: | CommentsAfter several injuries that threatened the contestants to bow out of the competition, “Dancing with the Stars” continued with all remaining nine pairs on Monday night, April 16. Carlos Santana was billed as a musical guest and his performance kicked off the Latin week.
The first team to dance were Jaleel White and Kym Johnson who did a samba. Bruno Tonioli said, “You got the party started!” Len Goodman praised his rhythm. Carrie Ann Inaba added, “This week you came out with attack and fire,” but advised him to watch his arm when it’s out of hold. The “Family Matters” actor earned 24 points.
After hitting her head during her routine last week, Melissa Gilbert was back on the stage with her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. They danced the salsa which got mixed reviews with Len noting it was “untidy and rough” on several occasions. Carrie Ann praised her confidence, but “there’s an element of control that is lacking.” The “Little House on the Prairie” star earned 21 points.
Maria Menounos and Derek Hough also danced the salsa, and heated up the ballroom with a full-on kiss during their routine. Bruno commented, “Was it legal? Want me to get you a room? May I join in? Salty and hot!” Carrie Ann called the “Extra” co-host fantastic, but thought that she didn’t need the kiss. Maria got 27 points.
Delivering another standout routine, Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas danced the Argentine tango which earned almost perfect score, 29. Bruno said it was “dancing and choreography of the highest quality,” but loved “the perfect pitch in the acting and the storytelling” more. Carrie Ann agreed as saying, “It was perfection. Your legs are the best legs I’ve ever seen in any contestant.”
Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff, meanwhile, still struggled to get him on the right steps. Len said, “It was more of a sham-ba than a samba,” but praised his “a gallant effort.” Bruno added, “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry – you should have stayed on the boat… With all the madness, I actually enjoyed it.” The singer earned 19 points.
After tweeting about his injured ankle on Sunday, William Levy was able to return to the show and performed a sensual Argentine tango with Cheryl Burke. “Wheww….hot, I’m gathering myself, that was ridiculously amazing,” was Carrie Ann’s reaction. Len gushed, “I saw movement, I saw passion, I saw sensitivity I thought you did really really good,” as Bruno described it with “sexy, sexy, sexy.” The telenovela star earned 29 points.
Gladys Knight and Tristan MacManus were up next with a samba. Though Carrie Ann noted “a few tiny mistakes,” she loved the way the singer commands the stage. Len added, “This number was simple, but it was effective.” The judges gave her 22 points.
Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower danced the salsa which showed his enthusiasm, according to Len. Carrie Ann said he was “sexy in a Disney way,” but quickly said she is not being a cougar. Bruno praised his timing, calling it “unbelievable.” The Disney actor earned 26 points.
Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd closed the night with their Argentine tango which divided the judges. Carrie called it “divine”, but Len thought it was not quite spectacular. Bruno commented, “Overall, a fantastic job. I liked it.” The NFL star earned 27 points.
On Tuesday, April 17, the bottom two pairs will do a dance-off before the judges decided which one will be eliminated.
‘Dancing with the Stars’: Sherri Shepherd Eliminated, Judges Shocked by the Bottom Two
Posted by: | CommentsSherri Shepherd will no longer bring the fun to “Dancing with the Stars” dance floor. The Angie Jordan of “30 Rock” was sent packing on Tuesday, April 10 results show in what some may call another shocking elimination.
“All of us judges, we are in total shock,” Len Goodman said after it was revealed that Sherri and Roshon Fegan were in jeopardy. Also surprised by his position, “Camp Rock” actor Roshon commented, “I thought we were pretty good.”
The Disney star was later declared safe, meaning it was the end of the road for Sherri. Fighting back tears, the co-host of “The View” stated, “I just want to say thank you for letting me live a dream I have always had. I want to say to everyone out there: That thing that scares you the most… run towards it, because it’s so amazing!”
Before learning her fate, Sherri tweeted earlier that day that she injured her foot during her routine on Monday night. “One of the hazards of dancing. Twisted my foot giving Len a lap dance! #DWTS,” so she wrote.
Meanwhile, Melissa Gilbert, who was rushed to hospital in the middle of the performance show, was not present at the results show. Host Tom Bergeron explained the “Little House on the Prairie” star suffered a “mild concussion,” and was resting at home. She, however, will be able to compete next week.
“Dancing with the Stars” brought rock music to the ballroom this week. Kicked off by a performance by KISS, the Monday, April 9 show saw the remaining ten contestants dancing to classic rock songs.
First to take the dance floor was Sherri Shepherd. She performed a tango with her partner Val Chmerkovskiy and started it off by dancing on the judges table. “You did a lap dance for me!… I like it when you’re nasty,” Bruno Tonioli commented, but Carrie Ann Inaba was bothered by her “expressionless” face. The comedienne earned 21 points.
Katherine Jenkins was next to perform, dancing the paso doble with Mark Ballas. She failed to repeat last week’s success as Len Goodman thought her performance “had promise but it didn’t quite deliver.” Bruno and Carrie Ann agreed. The Welsh opera singer got 24 points.
Jaleel White and his partner Kym Johnson delivered a funky, fun tango, which was inspired by Mick Jagger. Though Len liked the humor in it, he said that “it needed more attack, a little bit more aggression.” Bruno added, “It was a little bit underpowered.” The former “Family Matters” star earned 22 points.
Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the paso doble with Spain touch. They did well until Maks slipped and fell in the end of their routine. “I loved the flavor of Spain but you messed up the ending,” Bruno said, but Maks quickly took a responsibility for it. Len also liked it, and commented on the slip, “I know silly old Maks fell over but it was a slippery floor and I don’t care.” The “Little House on the Prairie” star got 22 points.
Also dancing the paso doble, Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd got the judges excited with their powerful performance. “Without a doubt, your best dance,” Len admitted, as Carrie Ann gushed, “That was the most bizarre, sexy, hot pasos I’ve ever seen.” The NFL star earned 27 points, which was the highest score of the night.
Up next, there was Gladys Knight who danced the tango with pro dancer Tristan MacManus. Bruno said she “coped very well,” but, “It lacked a little bit of impact.” Carrie Ann also pointed out the good and the bad in the performance as commenting, “By far your most ambitious routine… I just felt like it didn’t quite come together.” The singer only got 20 points from the judges.
William Levy danced the jive and he made a mistake when he was supposed to twirl pro partner Cheryl Burke. Bruno noted he “went wrong quite a few times,” while Len said he “lost timing during the end part.” Carrie Ann, meanwhile, advised him to “watch the routine and stay focused.” The telenovela star earned 22 points.
Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower danced the Viennese waltz, and Len said he did a “good job.” Bruno called it “elegant and romantic,” as Carrie Ann compared the routine to “watching the climax out of a Disney movie.” The actor got 26 points.
Maria Menounos and Derek Hough danced the tango, and despite her injured foot, she still delivered an outstanding performance. “Beauty, attitude and sex appeal by the truckload,” Bruno commented. Carrie Ann added, “You guys have such incredible chemistry when you dance… Every move, I was in love with.” The “Extra” co-host earned 26 points.
Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff danced the tango, which got mixed reviews. Though he liked it, Len was not into when Gavin went “crazy.” Bruno commented on his bad frame, while Carrie Ann thought his posture was a little strange. The musician earned 23 points.
By the end of the show, host Tom Bergeron announced that Gilbert had injured herself and gone to the hospital as a precaution, though she was not seen falling during her routine. He promised to provide update on her condition on Tuesday results show, which will have the bottom two pairs dancing simultaneously for the judges.
‘Dancing with the Stars’ Results: Shocking Elimination and New Twist
Posted by: | CommentsThe third week of “Dancing with the Stars” has come out with a quite shocking result. Fan favorite Jack Wagner was sent packing on Tuesday, April 3 after he landed on the bottom three along with Gavin DeGraw and Gladys Knight.
Being in jeopardy for two weeks in a row, Gavin seemingly wasn’t surprised with his position as saying, “I’m a repeat offender.” He and Gladys, however, were later declared safe, joining the other eight pairs.
“I just had a great time. It was fun to test myself and thanks to the judges,” Jack said after learning the bad news for him. “Good luck to everybody else, all the contestants.” The soap opera actor also sang praise to his partner Anna Trebunskaya, declaring, “I love Anna. I’m so grateful for her.”
Also on the results show, host Tom Bergeron revealed a new twist. “After next week, and for the subsequent three weeks, the bottom two dancers will dance simultaneously for the judges, who will then decide who goes,” he announced.
